Dakar Rail Systems Project
The Dakar Rail Systems Project is a comprehensive transportation infrastructure modernization and expansion project located around the historic Dakar Train Station in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. This project aims to integrate Dakar, one of the key railway hubs in West Africa, with modern rail systems and improve the efficiency of regional transportation infrastructure. Furthermore, the project aims to contribute to the economic and social development of the region.
Dakar Train Station, built in 1904, is an impressive example of French colonial architecture. With its historical and cultural significance, this station plays a central role in the railway network of West Africa. As part of the project, the railway infrastructure around Dakar Train Station will be modernized, new rail lines will be constructed, and urban transportation networks will be better integrated.
Eiffage Construction, as the main contractor of this large-scale project, is leading the construction of the new rail systems, the renovation of station buildings, and the strengthening of transportation infrastructure. Mert Döküm, as a key supplier, plays a crucial role in providing foundry and metal processing solutions for the project. The project aims to promote environmentally friendly transportation while addressing the growing transportation needs of Dakar.
